You are not addicted to your phone.

The phone is not a vice to resist. It is a competitor to beat. The only move that has ever worked is making real life more interesting than the feed.

Every product in this space starts from the same assumption: you are addicted, and the fix is restraint. Less time, more limits, a blocker, a cleanse. The assumption is flattering to nobody and, worse, it is wrong.

Most people are not addicted to their phones. The phone is simply the most interesting thing in the room, almost every room, almost all the time. A hundred thousand engineers work on that. Your Tuesday evening does not have a team.

Why resisting keeps losing

Restraint is a fair fight you have agreed to have ten thousand times a day. You win some. But the feed only has to win once an hour to own the evening, and it is patient, free, infinite and always within reach. Screen time limits, app blockers and detoxes all fight on the feed's terms: your willpower against its whole company.

You do not beat something interesting by sitting next to it, being bored on purpose.

The people who spend less time on their phones and keep it that way are rarely the most disciplined. They are the ones with somewhere better to be. The hours got claimed by a game, a table, a project, a person, and the feed lost by default. Nobody had to resist anything.

The only move that works

Make the alternative more interesting. That is the whole strategy, and it is harder than it sounds, because the bar is genuinely high. The feed is funny, fast and always new. Beating it takes things with the qualities a feed cannot have: other people in a room, stakes, a body doing something, a story you were actually in.

What even hand builds

This is the entire company. even hand makes real world experiences: dinners, activities, challenges, weekends away, longer stretches offline. Not as medicine for a phone problem. As competition for the phone's hours. Every format is an attempt to build something a reasonable person would pick over their feed, with no guilt involved.

The promise is one line: build a life worth being offline for. Not a life with better rules. A life where the phone is not missed, because what is in front of you is better.

If that sounds obvious, good. Obvious things that nobody builds are the ones worth building.
