We are a lab, not a brand.
A lab admits it does not know yet. A brand pretends it does. That is why even hand runs experiments in the physical world instead of selling certainty.
Most companies in this space arrive with an answer already packaged. Download this, buy that, book the cleanse, here is the ten step system. The confidence is the product, and the product is the confidence.
We do not have that confidence and we do not want it. The honest position is that nobody knows yet how to build a life that holds its own against the feed. So even hand is set up the way a lab is set up: a question, a room, a small number of people, and a result you are willing to publish even when it embarrasses you.
What a lab runs
Every format we make is a question wearing clothes. None of them are products in the usual sense, because a product assumes the answer is settled.
- The 48 hours asks what two nights with a sealed phone actually change, measured at the start and the end.
- DEAD AIR asks whether ten hours is enough to feel the difference, or only enough to feel the withdrawal.
- Phones in a box at dinner asks whether company alone, with no rules about anything else, changes how an evening goes.
- The attention test asks whether people will look at their own number if it takes one minute and stores nothing.
Why the page says forming
On the experiences page some things are marked forming and some are marked coming soon. That is not a marketing gap. It is the lab being legible. A format is forming while we are still running it with small groups and changing it between runs. It is coming soon when the question is clear but the first run has not happened yet.
A brand sells you the answer. A lab invites you into the question.
This also explains the pace. We would rather run one honest weekend and learn from it than launch five polished offerings that teach us nothing. Slow on purpose is not a failure of ambition. It is the method.
What you get for joining a lab
You get the results as they arrive, before they are tidied into a pitch. You get asked what happened to you, and the answer changes what runs next. And you get to be in the room early, while the questions are still open, which is the only time being in the room actually matters.
