What it is
One long table, twelve seats, dinner. Phones go into a box at the door and come out when you leave. There is no host on a stage, no icebreaker, no round of introductions where everyone says what they do for a living.
Why phones go in the box
A phone on the table changes what people say. Half of a good conversation is the part nobody wants on a record. Sealing the phones is not theatre, it is the condition that makes the rest of the evening possible.
Who is at the table
The seats are picked from the community, not sold to whoever books first. We look for the same five things we look for everywhere: curiosity, agency, contrarianism, generosity, follow-through. A table of twelve fails if two people are there to network.
How a seat happens
Join the community with your email and city. When a dinner forms in your city you get the date before it is public, and you say yes or no. Nothing is charged to hold your name.
